Paris For The Weekend

Novembers been non stop. Between rolling off film on my Mamiya 645AFD and digitally capturing work on my newly purchased EOS 1Ds mk3 through-out East Anglia, i squeezed in a trip to Paris to shoot the Quiksilver Tony Hawk Show for JDP Images while taking time to capture the Parisian sights using my un-orthodox Woca 120A. What a weekend. Top end vert and street skating, merged with a fashion, art and music took over the Grand Palais in central Paris and with the help of the owners of the G.P. Quik certainly put on a party to remember......

Memories from Eastern Europe

This morning I received an e-mail from the guys at Dalikfodda mentioning that one of my Woca images is due to feature as a banner on their online shop. The photo in mention was taken in the craggy reaches of the Transylvanian Alps, featuring the reputed Dracula' castle. Joining team Dalikfodda on a virgin tour through the rugged ski resorts of Eastern Europe, this photo is certainly reminiscent of the trip sparking memories of those seemingly unending long-haul journeys on the road.

While the actual camera which captured the image fits right in with the rustic charms of Romania. The plastic camera, held together with gaffer tap and the preferred choice of elastic bands. Those who know a thing or two about cameras will instantly recognise it's unorthodox binding style. Yes, its a lomography generation camera - a lesser know product of the Holga design - only as a proud owner of this unpredictable tool, I prefer the simplicity of the Woca - it almost lends itself to individuality within this very unique trend. It got me thinking is film dead? As one of my digital cameras lays bruised and broken while my newly purchased Mamiya waits for it's first shutter release. When a future looks so bright for digital, is there room on the shelve for film? Has the anticipation been lost to the excitement of mega-pixels. As I plan my day tomorrow loading, clumsily i should add, a 400VC Portra into my Mamiya I wander what the future holds for film?

Read it all at Method Mag.com

As winter knocks on our door and newsagents nation-wide furnish the shelves with the latest snowboard magazines, material from from earlier in the year begins to be published in the likes of Document Snowboard Magazine and Whitelines while Method Mag opened Pandora's box, reveling all the mayhem and madness from the Dalikfodda Shithouse Tour.

Keeping in line with the approaching season, the remaining few days of October were spent at Battersea Power Station in the heart of London, shooting the second LG Freeze Festival and what a spectacle. Covering the jam-packed weekend of festival fun for JDP Images. Much of my material concentrated on capturing the host of elite UK snowboarders battling it out with the world’s best on the huge Big Air jump. Read how Mike Austin, riding for Endeavour, got on.

Moving away and on to other work taken place over the past month or so. It's been a busy, not to mention successful month for the staff at Breast Cancer Campaign with the whole of October devoted to the nation-wide 'Wear It Pink' Campaign. Collaborating with the girls from their London HQ a number of 'Wear it Pink' photo shoots were organised. Notably with Sheridan Smith together with the West End Legally Blond cast while as dusk settled over the capital Hollyoaks star Summer Strallen turned Trafalgar Square pink.
